    Description

French Faience Oyster Plate by Paul Fouillen (1899-1958) Quimper.
Fouillen began work as an artist for Henriot Quimper in 1920 and opened his own studio in the late 1920s .
His work is well known and has achieved strong auction sales success.
Additionally, his work is perpetually on display in the Museum de la Faience de Quimper.
    His style is Bretagne
    and
he is the Father of The Bretagne Modern Movement reflecting the Celtic influence .
This piece measures 9.25” by 8.75” and is in excellent antique Mid Century condition .
Also note the “eye” in the fish amongst the seaweed has remnents of Picaso's feel of Modern Movement( look closely at photo 5 & 6).
At the moment, we have several of his each unique( each different) pieces available.
We added some reference book and should note the book "Popular Quimper" dedicates the 7th chapter to Paul Foullen.
