For better protection but more costly, the lock will be placed inside a cardboard box with Bubblewrap protection.     First Class Mail Mail in an envelope is .40; and Priority Mail in a Flat Rate cardboard envelope with free insurance, 2-3 days, is .50. Ground Select Mail in a box is .75.
