How does the metering
What aperture will be displayed on the camera
The camera shows that the diaphragm, which is programmed in the dandelion. This diaphragm is fixed and does not change during the shooting !!!
Exposure is calculated according to the actual luminous flux after you close the lens aperture to the desired value at the time of shooting. It does not matter what aperture programmed dandelion. Extract all the same to count correctly.
ETTL works similarly. Just put the flash and shoot. Flash energy is calculated automatically.
Are firmware affect the accuracy and regimes?
Does not affect. The dandelion can be sewn F1.0 / 12mm and use, for example, with Samyang 500 mm .. However, modern ETTL flash will try to uncover the reflector in accordance with the sewn in dandelion focal length. In this case, you need to convert flash to manually enter the zoom mode.
