    Description

Parrott percussion fuse originally know as the "West Point" fuse has a zinc striker with a nipple and percussion cap. It rested on a shoulder in a channel milled out in the nose of the shell. The zinc anvil cap with spanner holes closed the top of the channel. Example shown and described on page 460 of the Dickey and George book, Field Artillery Projectiles of the American Civil War.
