    Description

    Here is an original Rare Civil War Abner H. Edwards Co. G 139th Illinois Infantry war cane. The cane measures
    37" long constructed from a tree branch with silver head bearing the following inscription on top, "Cut At North Bend (Probably from the Battle Field), Ohio. / Sept. 10th 1841 / Abner Edwards / from / Samuel". Also small silver escutcheons at the wrist loop hole. Iron and brass tip with a soldered sheet tin sleeve extending an additional 5" from the brass , possibly representing an old repair. Overall fine untouched condition, the silver head with nice untouched patina.
