Rare vintage obsolete Police Sheriff heavy metal lead ACE plaque badge toy prop?

a rare lead sheriff plaque.
In my opinion this is a vintage novelty / prop / replica item but I am not sure to be honest...may it be a real obsolete one?
At the back is written: "Place No 2 safety pin in slots and peen over"
Cool item for collection purposes.

Condition:
Good cosmetical condition.
You can expect some paint loss, scratches and little bumps normal details for vintage used lead pieces.
