This is a gorgeous Red & White Slag Glass hen on nest covered candy dish or nut bowl.
The hen is a bright ruby red. There are streams of white running through the red. There are a few small areas of yellow-orange where the colors have blended.
The nest is all ruby red and not slag.
The hen has her head turned slightly and a split tail. The detail work in the glass is fantastic with tiny pin feathers and silky neck feathers to tiny eggs tucked under the hen's breast. The nest is ribbed. Has a wide flat edge with woven design.
Originally made as a candy dish. Makes an excellent jewelry and ring holder.
Stands appx 5" tall and is 6-1/2" long by 5-1/2" wide.
New/Old Stock and in mint condition.
An excellent example of hand made pressed glass.
