WE ONLY HAVE ONE OF THESE AVAILABLE...
This is one of our ISO-20 super precision ground spindles with quad ABEC-7 sealed angular contact bearings. The runout is 0.0001"...you read that correctly, 1 Ten Thousandths of an inch. It's totally new and unused...however, I put a little too much preload on the spindle and it's a little tight. Because we are so busy, I simply don't have the time (or desire) to mess around and reduce the preload. So, I figured that I would just sell it cheap and quick so I don't end up forgetting about it on a shelf somewhere.
You can run it as is...if you do, you will need to use it at very low RPM's until you reduce some of the preload. The ISO20 tool holder shown in the image is not included. We are currently sold out of pulleys for this spindle (it uses a 30mm ID pulley). You can simply buy a Sherline pulley and bore it to fit.
It uses a threaded drawbar bolt, which is included. (the draw bar simply uses the threads on top of the ISO tool holder where the pull stud normally goes). It can only accept a threaded drawbar and cannot use a petal clamp ATC drawbar (which would never fit a Sherline headstock casing anyway). In other words, this cannot be converted to ATC...frankly, using an impact driver to swap tooling is likely far faster than a shop made ATC system. The shaft diameter is 30mm at the pulley side.
I know some will ask this...we do not have any scratch-n-dent heavy duty headstocks at this time. In fact we're waiting on a deliver of the heavy duty headstock casings and are totally sold out of those. We only have the regular Sherline casings available.
