    Description

This vintage 11" octagonal bowl from HB Quimper of France likely dates from around 1970. Quimper faience, as it is known, is completely and painstakingly hand-painted. Each piece of Quimper is unique. One artist handpaints each piece from start to finish. Each piece is then initialed by the artist -- note the initials HD on the bottom of the bowl. Quimper was founded in 1685 and continues to this day, after several sales, and is now called Henriot Quimper. Faience refers to glazed ceramic ware.
This bowl can be used for salads, fruits, or a myriad of other things, including display.
The Quimper faience pattern features a Breton man in traditional Breton costume with a staff, flowers, leaves and and lattice border. Paint colors are vibrant.
The classic HB Quimper logo appears on the bottom of the bowl.
The bowl is in excellent condition, only one tiny black blemish (see photos).
